STP's COVID-19 Protocol

A word from our board of directors.

To our students and tutors,

In the Spring of 2020, our world was rocked with the arrival of the coronavirus. The Saturday Tutoring Program cut it's semester short as our world went through a devastating pandemic. Sensing the need for assistance many students had, we were able to pivot to providing virtual tutoring sessions. With the help of our dedicated volunteer base, we were able to provide over 1,000 hours of online tutoring these past 16 months.

After many discussions and surveys, we have made the decision to return to in-person tutoring. We remain committed to fulfilling our mission of enrichment through education. However, it is our responsibility to the students and community we serve to be as safe and responsible as possible. That being said, we have implemented the following changes for this upcoming semester:

  • Masks are required for ALL participants during the tutoring sessions.

  • To reduce traffic and crowds, students will now have an entrance separate from that of tutors. Tutors will continue to enter through the patio stairs on the east side of the building, highlighted by signs. Students will now enter through the main tower entrance of the church, with a separate waiting area.

  • Vaccinations are not required but strongly recommended of all volunteer tutors

  • The juice and donuts have been replaced with packaged snacks and bottled waters

As of this very moment, we will not be providing the option for online tutoring. However, should matters dictate such a need, our program will swiftly convert back to this format. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at saturdaytutoring@gmail.com. We thank you for your understanding and participation as always.
